About Us

Origin Kava are Australian importers and suppliers of high quality kava root powder. Origin Kava sources whole kava roots direct from indigenous farmers located in the Kadavu group of islands in Fiji.

Kava from Kadavu has always been highly regarded and we at Origin Kava consider ourselves privleged to be working closely with the legendary farmers of Kadavu.

Kava Purity - 100% Pure Kava

We are proud to provide kava which is disease-free and pure. The kava roots are washed twice and gently sun-dried before being pounded and packed in biosecurity-approved facilities under supervision and stringent quality control.

Origin Kava does not use kava stems, peelings or any additives and fillers. We encourage our kava farmers to refrain from selling stems and to replant them instead.

Main Products

Our main products are Pure Waka, Pure Lawena and a special Waka Blend.

The Pure Waka has 100% kava lateral roots. The Pure Lawena has 100% kava root stock or basal roots. The Waka Blend is a mix of pure waka & pure lawena with more waka than lawena.

All kava at Origin are single-origin and sourced from small-scale farms in Kadavu in Fiji. Origin Kava products do not contain kava of mixed origins.  

Community Support

We have a strong sense of community and we aspire to provide ongoing support to our indigenous farmers and their villages.

Our farmers are paid generously and we make payments upfront. Everything is based on good old-fashioned trust.

We provide further support by assisiting with boats, outboard engines, fuel, repairs and we also share our knowledge of efficient & sustainable farming practices.

As Origin Kava grows, so shall our support to the farming communities.
